I’m a Loser!

Not that I’m competitive or anything, but team KARMA 2 is back and we are ready to lose! I mean win. No wait, we win by losing. You know what I mean! I am referring to Inova Healthsource’s “Team Up for Weight Loss” program.
Round one yielded a total weight loss of 2,511 pounds and you can thank me for a whopping 18 pounds of that total. This go-around I plan to lose another 18 pounds. I’m setting a specific goal this time because I’m going to apply John Fitzgerald’s formula for success:
10% = Hear an idea (The Weight Loss program is back)
25% = Decision to adopt the idea (Join team KARMA 2)
40% = Establish a timeline (September 6 – November 18)
50% = Create a plan (Exercise more, eat healthier, be accountable)
65% = Commit to someone else (The entire Inova family – yikes!)
95% = Set specific accountability and follow-up measures (Log in progress on a regular basis, check-in with team members, “just say no” to doughnuts and show up for final weigh-in)
For me, it’s simply a matter of mind over platter. I will take the time to eat smart and get out more. Small steps lead to big changes. I hear that there will also be an on-line forum this session where we can post recipes, ask questions and share success stories. I look forward to reading your tips and hopefully posting some of my own. So here’s to healthy hearts, happy arteries and green smoothies. Oh – and a warning – a look out “Leaner Lab Ladies,” “Pink Pacers,” “Money Maker Shakers” and all you others teams out there – KARMA 2 is back and we are on a losing streak!
